Welcome to my blog, and thanks for stopping by. This is a new adventure for me and I hope you’ll consider your visit here a worthwhile one!
This is Holy Week for millions of Christians around the globe. We’ve just finished up with the season of Lent and reflected on how far mankind has fallen away from God’s original plan. Perhaps that thought weighs heavier on your shoulders right now in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Maybe you or a loved one has been directly affected by the virus. Even if you have been spared from the physical effects of Covid19, it’s safe to say that everyday life for all of us has been drastically upended right now. Social distancing leaves people isolated and uncertain of what the future may hold. Lost jobs and economic uncertainty leave people anxious and afraid. The hardships that people are currently facing can instill a sense of hopelessness for the future. In a way, that hopelessness parallels what the followers of Jesus must have been feeling as Jesus came closer to fulfilling His destiny on Good Friday. Despite the hopelessness that Christ’s followers may have felt when considering their Lord’s fate, there still existed the undefeatable hope that would triumph three days after Christ’s crucifixion. Death was turned to life and eternal hope would never be extinguished from that point on. And in the midst of our current fears and uncertainty, we can be reassured that through it all, we are not alone. God sees all and whatever happens in the future, we can be comforted by the fact that He will never leave or forsake us. In the midst of this holiest of weeks, despite the tragedy and suffering all around, embrace the hope that comes from the greatest truth…that God loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. That one selfless act secured for us a place with Him eternally if we believe in Him. Whatever you may be facing today, let God’s unfailing love be the hope that strengthens you for tomorrow’s challenges. He will not let you down!
